Running Frantic Fred

Frantic Fred is a top-water lure that is tremendously versatile & can be fished in a number of ways. Always use thick diameter, heavyweight line for top-water fishing to reduce line drag, line shrinkage, & improve overall buoyancy. A medium/heavy power musky action rod of at least 6-1/2 feet also promotes better hook-sets.

1. After casting, begin retrieving immediately. Start your retrieve faster initially while simultaneously lifting upwards on your rod tip keeping as much line off the water as possible. Just by cranking the bait Frantic Fred snakes across the surface leaving a bubble trail.
2. Twitch & pause to walk the dog with a real popping & spitting action. The bait floats slightly tilted in the water. This tilt action with left to right, front to back movement, makes Frantic Fred the most versatile top water bait ever!
